Jingle Bell Crops!

Photobucket

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we know how busy and hectic this time of year can be. On top of all the decorating, baking, gift buying and socializing, many of us are still trying to fit in some scrapbooking time to finish up our Christmas cards or scrapbooked gifts.

You are invited to join us for a Jingle Bell Crop to be held on Friday and/or Saturday, December 4th and 5th at Two Scrapbook Friends. This special crop will give you a break from your schedule to enjoy some scrapbooking and Christmas fun! We will be including dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday (catered by Papa Soly's), snacks, some special gifts from Two Scrapbook Friends and lots of fun! The cost for each day is only $20.00.

The crop on Friday will run from 4:00pm to 10:00pm. Saturday you can crop from 10:00am to 5:00pm. You can sign up for one or both days.

To add a little fun to the mix, we thought we would include a Secret Santa Stocking Stuffer Gift Exchange. All you need to do is crash your scrapbook stash, buy something small or make a special gift that you can exchange with someone at the crop. Let's get creative and have some fun with this!

So organize your supplies, pull out your Christmas sweater and call or email Two Scrapbook Friends to book your spot today!

Friendzy Friday with Laura

I have been doing a fair bit of sewing on my cards and layouts lately so I thought I should do a bit of research to see if there are some good tips out in the cyber world to share with you, as opposed to my approach of sticking my paper into the sewing machine and pressing the peddle!

The following pictures and information were found online.

The first thing you want to consider when machine stitching on your scrapbook pages is stitch length. Small stitches may perforate the paper so much that it is weakened, causing it to tear along the stitching. By using a long stitch length you add texture while maintaining the integrity of the cardstock. I know this tip would have been useful to me in the beginning!

Even basic sewing machines come with several choices for stitch design including straight, zigzag, blind stitch, and button hole.

Experiment on scrap pieces of cardstock to see how each stitch design looks on paper.

Outline Titles, Journaling Boxes, and Photo Mats. Use a straight or zigzag stitch to carefully sew around the matting cardstock on focal point pieces.

Sewing around embellishments and down border strips continues the look of the sewn scrapbook page layout and adds even more style.

Tearing your paper prior to sewing adds further dimension.

Hope this helps, I can’t wait to see how you incorporate sewing into your projects!

New Cuttlebug Folders

There has been some chatter on our forum about the new Christmas embossing folders from Cuttlebug, and which ones we have received. I thought I would do a quick post to show you what has arrived.

Winter Tree

Winter Borders
Snowflakes
Season's Greetings
Lace Tree
Holly Ribbons
Christmas Countdown
Candy Cane Stripe
Some of these folders are now in a 5x7 size which allow you to emboss a larger card front if desired. Regular folders are $5.99, 5x7 folders and 7" borders are $7.99.

Images have been uploaded to the online store as well.

Copic Marker Organization!

Copic markers have exploded in our store. We have placed an enormous order to replenish our stock and add in many, many new colours. We will have over 200 colours available.

As many of our customers build their collections it is important to keep a record of which colours you have so you do not end up with multiples of the same ones.

Deanna was kind enough to give us a link to the chart that she created to keep track of her markers. You can simply print this off (we recommend that you print it on the special Copic cardstock so you get a good representation of your colour) and keep a copy handy when you are shopping for new colours and also when you are colouring you images.

You can click here to print your chart!
